Wisconsin and its Republicans

So, it has finally happened. The Wisconsin State Assembly has passed its bill on collective bargaining. Not that this is a surprise. With Republicans in the majority, chances were that the bill would pass. The scary thing is how the Republicans passed it. They used what the Washington Post calls "a legislative maneuver." Basicly, the bill cuts union workers' rights. But  there is a darker side to this legislation. Not only does this strip union workers' rights, but it also allows Gov. Walker to sell public instatutions, like state owned powerplants. You think this would be ok, but the legislation allows Gov. Walker to choose who gets to buy the property.  This means that Gov. Walker would sell these instatutions to Dave Koch, who payed mass sums of money to get him into office. There is also an interesting article on Gov. Walker's plan to cut Wisconsin's deficit, and it is truely horrifying. What he wants to do is not what is needed right after a recession.
